Workcover Counselling
Counselling support for your recovery after a workplace injury or psychological harm at work. We see clients in person across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Northern NSW, and by telehealth Australia-wide.
Counselling Through Workcover
An injury at work, physical or psychological, changes a lot more than your working day. Workcover counselling supports your recovery from work-related stress, trauma, bullying and burnout. It also makes room for how you’re coping with the injury itself and with being away from work.
If you have an accepted Workcover claim, counselling sessions can be funded as part of your treatment plan. We work alongside your GP, insurer and rehabilitation providers to support your recovery and a sustainable return to work.

We Can Support You With
- Work-related stress, anxiety and depression
- Psychological injury from workplace bullying or harassment
- Trauma following a workplace incident
- Adjusting to physical injury and its impact on daily life
- Burnout and compassion fatigue
- Building confidence for a return to work
How It Works
1. Claim and referral
Your GP recommends counselling as part of your Workcover treatment plan, or your insurer or rehab provider refers you to us.
2. We coordinate
We confirm approval with your insurer so sessions are covered, and keep the paperwork off your plate.
3. We support your recovery
Regular sessions, built around your recovery goals and a return to work that holds up over time.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who pays for Workcover counselling?
If your claim is accepted, sessions recommended in your treatment plan are billed to your Workcover insurer. There’s generally no out-of-pocket cost to you for approved sessions.
Do I need a referral?
Counselling is usually recommended by your treating GP as part of your Workcover treatment plan. If you’re unsure where your claim is up to, contact us and we’ll help you work out the next step.
Will what I say be shared with my employer?
Your sessions are confidential. Like all Workcover treatment providers, we provide progress reports to your insurer about your treatment and recovery, but the personal details of what you discuss stay between you and your counsellor.
What if my claim hasn’t been accepted yet?
You don’t have to wait. You can access counselling privately or through a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP while your claim is being assessed.
